Well-known and popular Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen was gunned down in an execution-style shooting on Monday night in Beverly Hills.
Chasen had earlier attended the premiere of the new Cher movie ‘Burlesque’ and later attended the after-party with her client, songwriter Dianne Warren, who wrote a song in the movie. Cher and Christina Aguilera were also at the party.
Chasen left the party at the W at around midnight and was heading for her Westwood home.
At 12.28am, residents heard gunshots followed by a car crash. The passenger window of her Mercedes was shattered. Chasen was found bleeding. One hour later she was pronounced dead.
Police are investigating different scenarios, one being she was a victim of road-rage, another that she was followed by a stalker.
Ronni ran the publicity firm Chasen & Co. and specialised in soundtrack composers. Her clients included Howard Shore, John Williams, Hans Zimmer, David Hirshfelder and Mark Isham.
