During the Sydney Metallica show, guitarist Kirk Hammett accidentally sent a kid flying offstage.
While playing ‘Seek And Destroy’ in the round, the stage was covered in giant black beachballs and Hammett was casually wandering around kicking them into the crowd.
Little did he know that there was a young child standing on the edge of the stage behind one of them, so his kick sent the kid careening backwards into a production area.
Despite rumours that the child was James Hetfield’s son, Blabbermouth reports that it was the daughter of the band’s production or tour manager, and she was not injured during the incident.
