Singer Joey Belladonna will sing on an Anthrax album for the first time in twenty years
Following their thrash revival shows with Slayer and Megadeth, the veterans have been working on their first studio album since 2003’s We’ve Come For You All.
And the next album, which is slated for next year and is tentatively titled Worship Music, will be the first one featuring classic-era singer Joey Belladonna since 1990’s Persistence Of Time.
Joey, guitarist and metal icon Scott Ian, and bassist Frank Bello talked about the new album on video.
Ian revealed new songs titles ‘Fight ‘Em Til You Can’t’, ‘Earth On Hell’ and ‘I’m Alive’.
Belladonna said it’s a return to classic Anthrax, “‘Fight ‘Em Til You Can’t’ might’ve been something off Persistance”.
Ian concurred, “We’re not taking any crazy left turns. It’s metal. There are definitely elements of thrash but it’s overall a metal record and it moves us forward creatively as a band for sure.”
Bello was inspired by the thrash reunion, saying, “This tour, having all this great metal around you is inspiring. It’s adds to our next record, getting us in a good space. We’re all really bonded right now.”
