Inventive freak folk duo CocoRosie organize two shows in Australia in January.
The nomadic sister duo, Americans who reunited in Paris in 2003 to form their elaborate act, have visited us twice already.
This time, they’re here to support their adventurous fourth album Grey Oceans, their first album for Sub Pop, after leaving Touch & Go.
The album also continues their legacy of hideous album covers, featuring a silly celtic font and both members with painted-on beards (check out the cover of their second album, Noah's Ark, which features a vomit-strewn unicorn threesome).
Art notwithstanding, they create winsome, childlike musical fairytales, which will surely play well at the show they’ve booked at the Sydney Opera House.
But maybe not so much at the Prince Bandroom.
Tickets for the Opera House show went on sale yesterday from the Opera House website, and tickets for the Prince show go on sale tomorrow from Polyester Records, the venue, or online.
Tuesday 25 January - Concert Hall, Sydney Opera House, Sydney
