Powderfinger have played a gig higher than any show they have played before... at 30,000 feet on board a flight from Sydney to the Gold Coast.
The show, which was tested earlier and given the all clear by the Civil Aviation Authority, was put on to raise money for charities Yalari and StarKids. The show successfully raised around $150,000 with fans paying up to $3000 for a seat in the 45 minute show.
Singer Bernard Fanning wasn’t shy about mocking the crowd for paying a fortune for a Jetstar flight. “There’s not a fucking cheap seat on this plane!” he joked.
The band are currently on their final tour before they end their 21 year career in their hometown of Brisbane.
