In a rare coup, Megadeth and Slayer not only play on the same bill but on the same stage.
Some of the big four of thrash – Anthrax, Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth – have been reuniting of late, despite some long-standing feuds.
Slayer guitarist Kerry King was briefly in Megadeth in 1984, but subsequently had a falling out with troublesome frontman Dave Mustaine.
When I spoke to King last year, he said, “Whatever the beef was, he’s a professional stick-his-foot-in-his-mouth motherfucker.”
Now, following the Canadian and Australian tours, King actually played with Megadeth onstage at a Jagermeister-sponsored show in Los Angeles.
They performed ‘Rattlehead’ together, marking the first time in 26 years that King and Mustaine have shared a stage.
