R&B superstars Akon and Ciara are added to the already all-star Summerbeatz tour.
The multi-platinum worldwide star Akon arrives with new single ‘Angel’ in hand on the verge on his third album Stadium.
Ciara is also a bona fide multi-platinum hitmaker, who’ll be bringing her chart-topping singles as well as songs from her forthcoming album Basic Instinct.
These high-profile additions are just the cherry on top of this huge urban music festival, which will host Soulja Boy, Flo-Rida, Jay Sean, Travie McCoy, and our own Stan Walker.
The only bad news, is that Akon will be prevented from appearing at the Melbourne date.
Promoter Dwayne Cross explains that his absence is due to restrictions put on the event by Rod Laver Arena.
We can’t be sure, but it might have something to do with brawls that broke out at his show at nearby Hisense Arena in October 2009, injuring 18 fans.
Regardless, Brisbane, Sydney and Perth get the Senegalese-American star.
