Roger Hodgson is about to release new live versions of his classic Supertramp hits, and the first one ‘Dreamer’ is now available as a free download.
‘Classics Live’ is a collection of the songs Hodgson wrote and sang when he was a member of Supertramp.
As Undercover has reported, Hodgson is still in disagreement with Rick Davies of his former band who has broken his promise not to perform Roger’s songs.
Davies has his version of Supertramp on the road and has begun adding Hodgson classics into his current set.
The Davies Supertramp is performing ‘Breakfast In America’, 'School', ‘Give A Little Bit’, ‘It’s Raining Again’, 'Take The Long Way Home’, ‘The Logical Song’ and ‘Dreamer’ on the current tour, without Hodgson’s unique vocal. One third of the Davies Supertramp set now features Roger Hodgson songs.
“I remember very clearly the only thing I cared about when I gave Rick the name was that I would leave with my songs and my voice in tact.” Roger told Undercover News earlier this year. “That would be my security. For him, his security would be the name, obviously".
Meanwhile, Roger has announced a four-city UK tour for 2011 including one night at the Royal Albert Hall.
Dates are:
May 25, 2011, London, Royal Albert Hall
May 27, Gateshead, The Sage
May 28, Glasgow, Glasgow Pavilion
May 29, Liverpool, Philharmonic
