Guitarist and original member of Firefall Jock Bartley has recorded his first solo album and it features lots of his famous friends.
Firefall had a worldwide hit in 1978 with 'Strange Way'. The band was considered a supergroup in the day, featuring former Flying Burrito Brothers member Rick Roberts, Burrito/Byrds Michael Clarke and ex-Spirit and Jo Jo Gunne guitarist Mark Andes.The album 'Blindside' has guest appearances from members of Poco, Buffalo Springfield, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Heart, Spirit, Big Head Todd & The Monsters as well as Bartley's Firefall bandmate Mark Andes.
The big names working with Bartley on the 'Blindside' sessions include Richie Furay, Rusty Young and John McEuen.
'Blindside' was recorded in the Colorado Mountains between January and August 2006.
The album features the song 'Call On Me', written in 1998 for Suicide Prevention. It later became the anthem for 1 800 Suicide. Proceeds from the song will be donated to Suicide Prevention.
'Blindside' is released through Independent label Winged Horse Records.
