`Band On The Run`, the classic 1973 Paul McCartney and Wings album, is about to get a major make-over.
'Band On The Run' will expand into two new packages, a four disc (3CD, 1DVD) package featuring nine bonus tracks , the original music videos and the 1974 special One Hand Clapping.The deluxe package will also have a 120-page hardbound book of unpublished photos by Linda McCartney and Clive Arrowsmith, as well as an audio CD documentary of the 25th anniversary special made for Band On The Run.
'Band On The Run' was recorded in Loas, Nigeria. Wings was just three members, Paul and Linda McCartney and Denny Laine at the time. Lead guitarist Henry McCullough and drummer Denny Seiwell quit Wings just days before they were all to leave for Africa. The McCartney's and Laine spent August and September 1973 recording the album. It was finished in London in October 1973 and released in December 1973.
McCartney is currently playing five songs from 'Band On The Run' on his current 'Up and Coming Tour'. They are 'Jet', 'Band On The Run', 'Let Me Roll It', 'Mrs Vanderbilt' and 'Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five'.
The new editions of 'Band On The Run' will be released in November.
