Metallica have a mini-festival touring with them on the World Metallic tour. Make sure you get there early to see the opening act, The Sword.
The Sword hail from Austin, Texas. They take their influences from Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. At least we hope they were channelling Black Sabbath at one stage and not Wolfmother. They have often cited Metallica's James Hetfield as a guitar influence.To date, The Sword formed in 2003 and have released three albums. The most recent 'Warp Riders' has just been released in Australia through Shock Records.
If you miss them next time, catch them next time. The Sword will return to Australia in February for Soundwave.
The Sword will perform again tonight with Fear Factory and Metallica at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.
