Clare Bowditch is NOT quitting music, and would like to make that clear.
As a follow up to an article we posted yesterday, I, and Undercover, would like to make clear that Clare will still perform, record and do all the other great things that musicians do, mainly on account of her NOT quitting!I recognise that the ambiguity of the paragraph "Clare Bowditch has declared that she will move into the world of television after not making enough money from music," appeared to suggest leaving music for TV, but this was entirely unintentional.
So, what she said over Twitter, with no editorial from me is:
"Chaps, just so you know, making music is a fantastic way to do exactly what you love, and to help one make sense of the world.
"But unless you're a massively fortunate, successful, supported-by-commercial-radio-artist, it's not such a good place to make THE MONEY.
"Or, at the very least, you need a kind of a "trade" to get you through the lean times...
"So, because I'm not a particularly good mechanic, I'm going to begin doing a little bit of extra writing/TV stuff on the side..."
Now that we have cleared that up, get her new album, and get yourself a ticket to one of the following shows:
