Yohane Banda, whose son David was adopted by Madonna, is desperate to find out how the child is faring.
Mr Banda spoke to Malawian newspaper 'The Daily Times', explaining that he doesn't know how to contact the pop singer."I don't have her phone numbers and mailing addresses," he said. "I want to find out how my son is but I don't know how I can do it. If there are people who can help me to get these details, please come forward. I would appreciate very much."
It would seem help has already arrived in the form of a 400 pound donation from Scottish nun, Christine Webster. Sending the cheque via the newspaper, Ms Webster said, "I do not have a lot of money but would you please assist in getting this money to Mr Banda to help him keep in contact with his son."
Mr Banda noted that he was not asking for his son to return to Malawi, despite welfare organisations questioning both the legality and morality of the adoption. Mr Banda has previously discussed his dislike of the NGOs, explaining that he does not want them to be involved in the issue.
