John Butler and his trio barely had enough time to celebrate going platinum before they had a shaky landing in Adelaide.
The John Butler Trio have been hugely successful over the years but their latest album April Uprising is proving to be a high point. It has just gone platinum, and the first single 'Close To You' is apparently the most played Australian song on radio this year.
He said to fans in a press release, "You all make dreams come true and I love the relationship we've built over time. April Uprising going platinum in this day and age of downloading is testimony to a very special friendship and the amazing journey that we're all on together."
Yet Butler didn't have much to say about a recent airline incident.
He and the band were on the same Adelaide-bound Qantas flight as the Victoria State Cricket team that had a very rough landing yesterday.
They were told to assume the crash position after the front landing gear malfunctioned.
Thankfully, all were fine after a bumpy landing. Another reason for Butler and the boys to celebrate.
