The all-Aussie festival says planets didn’t align this year and have cancelled.
It's more of a hiatus year than a complete collapse of the festival.Organisers were dismayed to announce that, after much deliberation, they were going to postpone this year's effort.
The reasoning was that the festival wasn't shaping up to be good enough.
A press release stated, "As we've not been able to have the 'planets align' to a standard we feel appropriate to the long standing reputation of Australia's largest 'locals only' event, we'd rather focus on a positive future and are instead planning for a unique return version of Homebake Festival to take place during the first week of December 2011."
With the glut of summer festivals expanding each year, Homebake was always unique in that it was staunchly local and had a stellar line-up of Australia's best.
We can only hope that the line-up for Homebake 2011 will be up to scratch.
