Sydney production duo Pocket 808 enlist indie vocalists for their debut album.
Sameer Sengupta and Ken Cloud, formerly known as Poxymusic, have recruited vocalists for their new electro project Pocket 808.They revealed to triple j that Phil Jamieson of Grinspoon guested on the track 'Monster (Babe)' and Nathan Hudson of Faker sang over their track 'Ghostship'.
They've also grabbed Aya Larkin of Skunkhour, "club kin" Jamie Lloyd, Sydney dub identity Ali Omar and FBi radio host Gina Mitchell for songs on their debut album Proximo.
Sengupta told triple j that Jamieson was right at home with their music.
He said, "The funny thing about Phil is he's really well-read on electronic music. He may be known for just doing rock but you have a conversation with him about dance music and he knows exactly what he's talking about. He's always been immersed in it as far as I know."
Proxima will be released on August 24.
