A previously lost tape found in a London recording studio features an incendiary rendition of the Welsh national anthem - and experts believe it may be one of Jimi Hendrix's last recordings.
The track itself is almost lost on the tape, appearing after a protracted silence on a demo by the New Flames. Producer Dave Chapman made the discovery, according to 'The Guardian'. The demo was recorded on 10 September 1970, just eight days before Hendrix died. The New Flames were said to have been friendly with Hendrix, with bass player Viv Williams living around the corner from the guitar great. Moreover, those who have heard the version of 'Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau' (Land of My Fathers) claim it simply sounds like Hendrix.
Hendrix is of course well-known for his propensity for tackling national anthems - his demonic rendition of 'Star-Spangled Banner' at Woodstock remains a defining moment in 1960s counter-culture.
