John Lennon’s Box of Vision is a limited edition individually numbered box set due out in October to coincide with what would be the singer’s 70th birthday.
The box contains no music, but lots of artwork. It includes a 166-page hard bound book full of LP artwork from Lennon and Lennon and Ono albums restored in LP sized prints, the complete artwork for 'Wedding Album', the calendar artwork for 'Live Peace In Toronto 1969'.It also has a thing called the "catalography", which features an exclusive essay and textual guide, reproductions of Lennon album ads and handwritten sound notes to 'Double Fantasy' and 'Milk and Honey'.
There is also a "BoxOfVision" CD storage system, which is built to store all of Lennon's official CD releases, although the CDs aren't included. It does, however, include two "art-adorned" recordable DVDs and two recordable CDs as well.
The box set is officially licensed by Yoko herself and is a nice change from Beatles related reissues in that it's not just trying to sell the music that the fans already own back to them again.
