The Rolling Stones have once again maintained their status as "Greatest Rock and Roll Band In The World" by topping ticket sales for 2006.
According to Pollstar, the 'A Bigger Bang' US tour grossed $138.5 million in 2006 and more than 1 million tickets were purchased at an average of $136.63 per ticket.Barbra Streisand came in second place with $92.5 million in ticket sales. Although she played far less gigs than the Stones, Streisand pulled into second place with thanks to the stocky ticket price average of $298.36.
Third place went to country stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. They grossed $88.8 million with the average ticket costing $80.92.
The top 100 tours of 2006 brought in 37.9 million fans. The average price of tickets for the tours was $61.45, 8% more than 2005.
Madonna and Kenny Chesney rounded out the top 5 tours.
