Industry groups demand that bloggers remove torrents of the essentially-free ‘In Rainbows’ album.
The Guardian reports that Recording Industry Association of America and the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry have been orders music bloggers to remove torrents the Radiohead album. The RIAA wrote, "These recordings are owned by one of our member companies and have not been authorized for this kind of use".
And the IFPI requested "immediate assistance in stopping this unauthorized activity."
Many of the blogs have already been stricken from Google results.
Granted, they were also offering albums from other artists.
But there's certainly an irony in requesting the removal of torrents of an album that could've been downloaded for free from the band themselves.
