Freak-pop star Lady Gaga has scored a record 13 nominations for MTV’s Video Music Awards.
She's sure to take home armfuls of Moonmen when the Award ceremony kicks off at LA's Nokia Theatre on September 12.Gaga's nominations include: Best Dance Video, and double noms for Best Collaboration, Best Female Video, Best Pop Video, and Video Of The Year (for 'Bad Romance' and 'Telephone').
She tweeted madly to her little monster fans: "I love you, you Bad Kids are a part of me. PAWS UP! #VideoMonsterAwards."
In an official, grammatically-correct statement, "I'm so honored for all the little monsters and self-professed freaks of the universe, to have more VMA nominations in a single year than any artist in MTV history. Ironically, I'm even more proud it's an unlucky number: 13."
"A long time ago, the world told me and my little monsters we would never be heard. Together we changed the rules. God put me on Earth for three reasons: to make loud music, gay videos and cause a damn ruckus. Thank you, MTV!"
