Those who think this sounds suspiciously like a female version of Crazy Heart might be on the right track.Paltrow reportedly plays an alcoholic country singer who is trying to restart her career after rehab in Country Strong.
Jeff Bridges won an Oscar for playing an alcoholic country singer trying to restart his career after AA in Crazy Heart.
Bridges sang in Crazy Heart and Paltrow also goes all Dixie Chicks in Country Strong.
We've heard her sing before, with Huey Lewis in Duets, and the lead single named after the film is pretty convincing.
The film also stars real-life country star Tim McGraw as Paltrow's husband and manager, Gossip Girl actress and occasional singer Leighton Meester and Bridges' Tron: Legacy co-star Garrett Hedlund.
Country Strong was shot in Nashville and will be released on December 22.
The eponymous single with Paltrow singing, will be released to country radio on August 23.
