In the twitterverse, you get to watch international rock stars ask legendary bon vivants to join them on the turps.
Both cultured gent Stephen Fry and effortlessly cool kids The Strokes happened to be in Sydney last night.The Strokes evidently took some time off from their Australian tour to take in one of the classy Brit's talks at the Opera House.
We only know this because they subsequently tweeted @stephenfry: "Our minds were effin' blown; we're at the hotel bar if you're of a mind to accidentally spill some vodka."
They must have taken the tip, because he'd mentioned the potato juice just before the show on twitter: "Oh my lordy. 2500 people filing into the auditorium. Is it too late to escape? The kind SOH people provided a bottle of vodka. Maybe ... Hmm"
Sadly Fry didn't reply publicly to The Strokes (well, he does have over 1.6 million followers) so we'll never know if they were comparing cravats and ennui over martinis in a hotel bar last night.
But it's nice to see that The Strokes can be impressed by something. And that they're up for a drink.
