Kings of Leon pulled out of a St. Louis show three songs in due to being bombarded by bird droppings.
The band were performing at the Verizon Amphitheatre in St. Louis, Missouri when the bombardment became too much and they walked off stage.According to a statement from the band, the support bands had warned them of the problem, but they "decided to carry on regardless," considering they felt it would be "unfair to the fans to cancel the show at that late moment."
The Riverfront Times reports that an unidentified man walked onto the stage after the band left and said "due to concerns over the band's safety, we are canceling the show. Please file out in an orderly fashion."
"So sorry St. Louis. We had to bail, pigeons shitting in jareds mouth. Too unsanitary to continue," Drummer Nathan Followill said on his Twitter account. "Don't take it out on Jared, it's the fucking venues fault. You may enjoy being shit on but we don't. Sorry for all who traveled many miles."
E-mail requests for clarification from the band's publicist were not immediately answered.
