Autumn `Comes Autumn` is the latest classic Australian album to be reissued by Aztec Music.
Sydney band Autumn had the hit in Australia with the Christie song 'Yellow River' in 1970. It was released on the long defunct Chart Records label. In 1971, Autumn signed with Warner Brothers and released the 'Comes Autumn' album. It gave them the top 40 chart hit in Sydney 'Falling', which reached no. 10 in May, 1971.
Lead singer Tony Romeril attempted a solo career in July of 71 but his solo music was never released.
A final Autumn single, 'Just Couldn't Believe It' was released in 1972 featuring guitarist Allan Marshall on vocals but it failed to chart.
As Aztec's Ted Lethborg points out in the liner notes, "This compilation is a fairly subjective view of Autumn. None of the early hits are to be found here and all (with one notable exception) are originals. Together, they illustrate how the band was more than just a bubblegum cover band".
Following this Autumn release, coming up next from Aztec Music are:
