Madina Lake bassist Matthew Leone has been severely beaten and is in a serious condition in hospital.
According to a blog post from Nathan Leone (brother of Matthew and singer of Madina Lake), Matthew left Nathan's apartment to meet a friend for a drink when he saw a man "severely beating his wife".Upon intervening, Matthew was severely beaten and afterwards "he [the mugger] and his beaten wife left Matthew unconscious on the street."
There is no word on the condition of his wife, or if she left with the mugger, but Matthew is currently in hospital with "a third of his skull removed" in order to relieve pressure on his swollen brain.
Nathan is keeping the remaining details to himself, preferring to highlight his brother's courage and heroics, calling his brother "the most amazing, strong, heroic and incredible person I know" and says the attacker was "twice his size".
