Kylie Minogue Joins Scissor Sisters On Stage At Glastonbury

Mon, 28 Jun 2010 07:26:10 +1000

Kylie Minogue jumped up on stage at Glastonbury with Scissor Sisters this weekend.

The pop superstar make her first ever appearance at the renowned music festival in Somerset, England yesterday as she skipped onto the coveted Pyramid stage and joined the band – consisting of Jake Shears, Ana Matronic, Babydaddy, Del Marquis and Randy Real - with a rendition of 'Any Which Way', from the band's new album 'Night Work'.

Tens of thousands of festival goers watched on in delight as the 42-year-old star ran onto the stage wearing a sexy, black lace leotard and mirrored thigh-high boots.

The blonde beauty was forced to pull out of her headline stage stint at the festival in 2005 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, but her recent work with singer Jake – who helped her with a track on her new LP – meant she finally made her Glastonbury debut.

The crowd went wild as she performed, and a host of stars, including actress Kate Hudson, watched on from the edges of the stage.

The 31-year-old beauty - who has recently started dating Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, and flew over to Britain especially to support him at the festival – was all smiles as she took photographs of the Australian pop star's energetic routine.

British rock band Muse – also consisting of Dominic Howard and Chris Wolstenholme - ended the evening with a dramatic light-filled performance as they played their biggest hits.

They were then joined on stage by U2 guitarist The Edge for the encore, and the crowd went wild as they performed 'Where the Streets Have No Name'.

U2 had to pull out of the Friday night headline slot at Glastonbury after Bono needed spinal surgery.

Earlier in the day, 'Never Leave You' hitmaker Tinchy Stryder took to the Pyramid stage and warmed up the crowd with an energetic show..

Talking to BANG Showbiz in the PlayStation 3 SingStar area about his performance, he said: 'It was crazy. I really enjoyed it. It was definitely different to what I'm used to, a different vibe. When you actually step out there, it's like 'Whoa, this is bigger than you can ever see.' Obviously playing on the main stage and opening the day, it was a blessing. Seeing all those people, all those tents, it was a great atmosphere.'
