Oz pub rock icons Cold Chisel sign up to headline Oz car mecca the Deniliquin Ute Muster.
Cold Chisel have announced the appearance on their website, which they claim will be their only “major” concert of 2010.This follows their Olympic Stadium show of December 2009. Pianist and songwriter Don Walker said during the announcement, “Cold Chisel got together late last year and we had a good time. We all thought that if the right thing came up, we’d do it again.”
They’ll headline a mostly toe-tappin’ country assemblage of acts, which includes Lee Kernaghan, Kasey Chambers, Corb Lund, John Williamson and James Reyne.
The Deniliquin Ute Muster takes place on the largest flat plain on earth, and holds the Guinness World Record for the largest parade of legally registered utes in the world.
This year they’re going to try to break that record and set another one: Largest Gathering of People Wearing Blue Shearer’s Singlets. No doubt they’ll smash both with the Chisel announcement.
The Deniliquin Ute Muster runs from Friday October 1 to Saturday October 2, 2010. Tickets are available at their website now.
