Theatrical emo princes My Chemical Romance announce the US tour for their epic concept album 'The Black Parade'.
The group have organised a tour running from February 22 to March 16 and running coast to coast from New Hampshire to California. They also have a plan for the Bamboozle festival in New Jersey in May. But lucky Australians get to see them first through January and early February during the Big Day Out festival dates.Despite what many may have predicted, that 'The Black Parade' would be well suited to Broadway-type show, My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way is adamant that the performances would retain the rock show element. He told Billboard, "It's not going to be like seeing 'The Wall.' It's going to bring the music and the band and the record to life. It's going to be theatrical without detracting from [the music]; it's not going to be surface over substance."
He continued, "We're really focusing on being great performers, then the theatrics will come into play." It may be sad news for fans who expected a rendition of the story on stage, but maybe they can wait for the 2026 MCR reunion arena spectacular.
