Music legend Engelbert Humperdinck has finished the recording of his duet with Melbourne girl-group Trinity at his home studio in Los Angeles.
Songwriters and producers Paul Wiltshire and Victoria Wu signed Trinity to PLW Entertainment two years ago and have been coaching the artist development of the group.Superstar Engelbert says he is always looking out for new sounds to keep his career fresh and was introduced to Paul Wiltshire who then brought in Trinity for the recording of ‘Ever ‘n Ever’.
“It is very important to me that my career keeps moving forward,” Engelbert tells Undercover News. “If you stand still you become stagnant. Working with a new, fresh (not to mention hugely talented and beautiful) young group like Trinity is inspiring even to someone like me who has been in this business for over 40 years”.
Sydney based Scott Dorsey, Engelbert’s son, presented the idea to his father. “When my son Scott originally approached me with this project idea I was immediately interested,” EH said.
That led to Paul Wiltshire, Victoria Wu and Trinity heading to Los Angeles to work on the track. “Working with Paul and Victoria was a complete pleasure,” Engelbert said. “They both approached the track from a different angle than I am used to. I love working with true professionals who can offer direction yet allow the artist to define the track”.
The session took place in April in the relaxed environment of the Hollywood Hills where a little more than just recording went on. “I have a studio in my home in LA and it allowed us to have a couple of bottles of wine and smoke a few cigars during the session...a very relaxed, fun session,” he said. “So much so that we ended up recording a beautiful ballad together also called ‘Tell Me Where It Hurts’ which I am hoping is going to be my next single in Australia”.
For Paul Wiltshire, the experience was incredible. "Working with Engelbert was an amazing experience. He is one of the masters and I am blessed to have worked with him," he said.
Engelbert will visit Australia twice this year. “I am coming to Sydney in June for a promotional tour in advance of my November National tour which I’m excited about”.
