Richard Ashcroft and The Scissor Sisters have each announced headline tours in support of their Splendour in the Grass Apperance later this year.
The Scissor Sisters are nigh on releasing their third album ‘Night Moves’ (in stores June 25) and will bring their simply freaking awesome live show to Australia soon after. If you haven’t caught these guys in action yet, don’t miss out this time. Even statues dance to their shows. The Scissor Sisters have come a long way since their first sweaty Melbourne performance at the tiny Prince of Wales, and will now be playing at Melbourne’s Festival Hall and Sydney’s Big Top at Luna Park.
Richard Ashcroft has released three successful solo albums and four albums as front man for acclaimed British icons The Verve.
The Verve were strongly rumoured for Splendour in the Grass two years ago, but the rumours failed to materialise. Time time he’s bringing his new band, the United Nations of Sound (billed as “RPA and the United Nations of Sound”) and is about to release his fourth album, which won’t be available until the very vaguely announced date of “July/August”.
You can, however, check out the track ‘Are You Ready?’, produced by iconic hip hop producer No I.D. (Jay-Z, Common) at the bottom of this story.
