An all-star cast of indie acts have paid tribute to Graham Nash by recording a covers album of his debut solo album `Songs For Beginners`.
Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Robin Recknold of Fleet Foxes, Brendan Benson of the Raconteurs, Vetiver, Alela Diane, Sleepy Sun, Mariee Sioux & Greg Weeks (from Espers), Port O Brien with The Papercuts, Moore Brothers and Graham's own daughter, Nile Nash have released ‘Be Yourself: A Tribute To Graham Nash’s Songs For Beginners’.Graham’s album was originally released in May 1971 not long after the release of the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young classic ‘D??jà vu’.
The album featured ‘Military Madness’, ‘Be Yourself’ and ‘Chicago’.
The songs were recorded between May and October 2009. Proceeds from the album will aid Camp Winnarainbow, a circus and performing arts camp in the Mendocino woods of northern California teaches children and adults tools for building self-esteem, community, conflict resolution, communication and plain old merriment.
