The guitarist from The Kills, Jamie Hince, has enlisted his girlfriend, British modelling icon Kate Moss, in a new musical side-project.
From those “sources close to the couple” that UK tabloids seem to lunch with all too often, Hince has assembled a five-piece side-project while his Kills partner-in-crime Alison Mosshart tours with Jack White in the Dead Weather.Apparently, during the recording process for this new venture, Moss has been “taking the session musicians out for dinner and giving her musical input”, according to the Daily Star. That’s close enough to being in the band for us.
Moss’ advice might be more worthwhile than first suspected; she’s not only lived the rock n’ roll lifestyle for most of her career, but has genuinely been involved in the music scene.
She played tambourine on an Oasis track, sung on Primal Scream and Babyshambles tunes, and appeared in music videos for Elton John, the White Stripes, Primal Scream, Marianne Faithfull and Johnny Cash.
Then there’s the whole Pete Doherty shemozzle.
Amongst all these side-projects, Mosshart has said The Kills’ fourth album is three-quarters finished and will be completed after her Dead Weather tour duties and, presumably, Hince’s hobby band.
