Metallica will tour Australia and New Zealand in October and November.
Melbourne based promoter Michael Coppel has scored the Metallica Aussie tour, their first time in the country since 2004 when they headlined Big Day Out.The World Magnetic tour has been on the road since October 2008 in support of the ‘Death Magnetic’ album. The Undercover crew caught the show at SXSW in Austin in 2009 and Metallica do not forget the past. In fact, the setlist for this tour digs deep into the early albums.
Don’t get too excited about the 3 week gap between Perth and Sydney. The band work two weeks on, two weeks off. They will fly home after Perth and before Sydney and return to Australia on November 10, so we can kind of say Metallica will tour Australia twice this year.
Metallica pre-sale starts on May 11 and general sales are from 9am May 13.
Dates are:
October 13, Auckland, Vector Arena
October 18, Brisbane, Entertainment Centre
October 22, Perth, Burswood Dome
November 10, Sydney, Acer Arena
November 15, Adelaide, November 15
November 18, Melbourne, Rod Laver Arena
