Bret Michaels health tragedy last Thursday materialised into a ratings boost for The Celebrity Apprentice in the US on the weekend.
With Michaels still in a serious condition in a Los Angeles hospital following a brain hemorrhage last Thursday, more than 1 million additional US viewers turned in to watch the 7th episode of The Celebrity Apprentice.Michaels stars in the current season with Cyndi Lauper and Sharon Osbourne and while the men’s team was all but obliterated by the 6th show, Michaels is yet to hear those famous words from Donald Trump “you’re fired”.
Filming for the current season wound up some months ago so Michaels’ tragic situation will not impact on the program but the global news he is receiving and the groundswell of good wishes from fans has become a boost for the program.
Coincidentally, none of the remaining contestants were fired on Sunday night’s show although if it was going to be anyone this week it was going to be Bret.
"I've decided... I'm not going to fire anybody tonight. You're all going to escape." Trump said. "Just get out of here, I'm not firing anybody... this is something I haven't done but you know what, honestly, you all did an amazing job."
