She and Him, the super-duo featuring M. Ward and actress Zooey Deschanel, have debuted in the top 10 on the US chart this week with their second album.
Deschanel and Ward met on the set of the movie The Go-Getter. Zooey was the star of the movie and producer Martin Hynes asked M. Ward to sing a song for the movie to be used over the end credits.Deschanel was a singer and wrote music but had never made any move on recording. M. Ward found that the motivating factor and She and Him was born.
The duo released their first album ‘Volume One’ in 2008. They showcased the new album two weeks ago at SXSW.
‘Volume Two’ by She and Him sold just under 50,000 units in America last week.
