In some parts of the world, the supergroup can take on a whole new meaning. Take New Orleans, for instance. When they use the word supergroup in the region they don`t talk about Them Crooked Vultures. They will most likely be talking about Lil Band O Gold.
Lil Band O Gold will head to Australia in March and will perform at Bluesfest in April.73-year old drummer Warren Storm is the rhythm to these blues. Storm has played with Lightning Slim, Slim Harpo and a whole range of New Orleans names over the last 60 years.
At half his age, CC Adcock is the lead singer in this band. Adcock has played with Buckwheat Zydeco and Bo Diddley, made two solo albums and scored two feature films.
Steve Riley started this whole thing off with Adcock. Riley was considered an accordion prodigy at the age of 12. He has been nominated for three Grammy Awards.
Lil’ Band o’ Gold is: Warren Storm (drums, vocals); C.C. Adcock (guitar, vocals); Steve Riley (accordion, vocals); David Egan (piano, vocals); Dave Ranson (bass); Pat Breaux (saxophone); Dickie Landry (saxophone); Richard Comeaux (pedal steel guitar).
In March, Lil Band O Gold will release “The Promised Land’, their first album in a decade through Dust Devil Music.
