Roger Daltrey has good reason to be unhappy with The Who Super Bowl performance earlier this week because it was not a Who show.
Critics have blasted The Who for their performance at the Super Bowl this week after a tirade of negative media reports. Where they all got it wrong was that they were criticizing the band like it was there own show. It wasn’t. It was a sports event that they had no control over. They were performing away from their comfort zone.“It didn't even feel like a concert ... It's a television show,” singer Roger Daltrey pointed out on ESPN. “And what can you do in 12 minutes? I thought it went OK. I understand. It's a TV show. Cameras were everywhere. I was so blinded that I couldn't see. And I really wished the crowd would have gotten into singing the songs with us more. That's how it is in Europe for our soccer matches. I wanted more banter”.
