My Chemical Romance have dropped out of the Soundwave Festival in Australia.
Soundwave organisers today confirmed that the band will now not make the trip down under because singer Gerard Way is suffering from “severe vocal problems”.“We are really sorry that we’ve had to cancel this tour, and apologise for any inconvenience it has caused,” Way said in a statement. “The last thing we ever want to do is cancel shows, but we’ll be back to Australia to make it up to the fans as soon as possible.”
Jimmy Eat World will replace My Chemical Romance for the tour.
Soundwave also announced the addition of Glassjaw, Sunny Day Real Estate, Motion City Soundtrack and RX Bandits for the Festival.
