Britney Spears has admitted that her partying got out of control last week, even though most people would have done the same if they had just ridded themselves of Kevin Federline.
A series of embarrassing photos were widely circulated on the Internet last week, exposing Britney's newfound disdain for underwear. Worse, she was photographed in the company of Paris Hilton.Writing on her website, Spears admitted that she "probably did take my new found freedom a little too far." She went on to say it "has been so long since I've been out on the town with friends. It's also been two years since I even celebrated my birthday."
She still managed to have a sense of humour, writing, "Every move I make at this point has been magnified more than I expected ... Anyway, thank God for Victoria Secret's new underwear line!"
Meanwhile, reports that Britney's boozing has raised the ire of Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services officials, supposedly concerned for the welfare of her two children, have been dismissed by TMZ.com contributor Harvey Levin, who claims, "Reliable sources in the world of Britney tell me DCFS never questioned the panty-challenged singer about her late-night clubbing ... DCFS is an understaffed county department that can't investigate all the truly serious allegations of child abuse. Even though Britney may be trading lullabies for Hyde, it's a safe bet she's got help at home. If DCFS investigated Britney's partying and at-risk kids were ignored, department officials would be skewered. Period."
