Beyonce Knowles, one time leader of the R&B supergroup Destiny's Child has earned a cool $12.5 million for her role as Deena Jones in the upcoming film Dreamgirls.
Jones is a character loosely based on the life of soul legend Diana Ross - a fitting role for Knowles, whose own career has been compared to Ross.Knowles, who was forced to shed 9kg (20lb) for the role, stars alongside Jamie Foxx, Danny Glover and Eddie Murphy in the film.
Reports suggest that her father's tough negotiations has landed Knowles a staggering 17% royalty rate on the soundtrack, which is expected to be one of the highest selling soundtracks in history.
The 25 year old superstar is currently dating rapper Jay-Z, who for her 25th birthday bought her a $1 million Rolls Royce.
Dream Girls is in cinemas in the USA on December 25, Britain on January 12 and Australia on January 18.
